GCSE Tuition — Other Subjects
Individual tuition across a wide range of GCSE subjects including History, Geography, French, Spanish, Business Studies, Computer Science, Religious Studies, and Economics — all tailored to your child's school and exam board.
Individual Tuition — Fully Bespoke, Fully Flexible
Why Individual Tuition for These Subjects?
For subjects outside Maths, English, and Science, the range of exam boards, set topics, and school-specific requirements is too wide for group teaching to serve effectively. A History student at one school may be studying the Cold War; at another, they're studying Weimar Germany. The same applies to languages, business, and the humanities.
Individual tuition lets us match teaching exactly to your child's school, specification, and personal weak points — with no time wasted on irrelevant content.
- Matched to your child's specific school and exam board
- Flexible weekday and weekend scheduling
- Initial diagnostic to identify gaps from the start
- Written feedback after every session
GCSE Subjects Available for Individual Tuition
All sessions are one-to-one and tailored to your child's specific exam board and school syllabus.
History
Source analysis, essay technique, and topic-specific knowledge matched to your child's school topics and exam board (AQA, Edexcel, OCR).
Geography
Physical and human geography, case studies, data interpretation, and exam question technique for AQA, Edexcel, and OCR specifications.
French
All four skills — reading, writing, listening, and speaking — covered and practised. Vocabulary building and grammar targeted to the specific exam board.
Spanish
All four GCSE skills covered with a focus on the areas where students lose most marks — particularly writing and speaking under controlled conditions.

What Sets Us Apart
Subject Specialists
Every subject is taught by a tutor with specific expertise in that subject — not a generalist stretched across multiple disciplines.
Tailored to Your School
We ask for your child's school, exam board, and current topics at the start. Everything — resources, past papers, and teaching — is matched precisely.
Full One-to-One Focus
No group setting to dilute attention. Every minute of every session is focused entirely on your child and their specific needs.
Flexible Scheduling
Weekday evenings and weekends available. Sessions are booked around your family's schedule — not around a fixed timetable.
Progress Updates
Parents receive written updates after every session. You always know what was covered, what improved, and what comes next.
JCQ Registered Exam Centre
Ark is a registered JCQ exam centre. Private candidates can sit their GCSE exams on site across a range of subjects.
How We Approach Other GCSE Subjects
School-Specific Briefing
Before the first session we ask about the student's school, exam board, and current topics. We then build a plan from that exact starting point — not from a generic syllabus.
Identify the Specific Gaps
A diagnostic in the first session maps exactly where the student is losing marks. For essay-based subjects this often reveals technique issues rather than knowledge gaps — we address both.
Exam Technique First
For most humanities and social science GCSEs, the mark scheme rewards specific skills — evaluate, assess, to what extent. We teach those skills explicitly so students know how to earn the top-band marks.
Consistent Past Paper Practice
From early in the programme, students practise under timed conditions using real past papers. They get comfortable with the paper structure and build the pace needed for exam day.
